Jiayi Wu, born and raised in China, did her composition studies in Cologne and Dresden, Germany, and furthered her studies in music producer and sound engineering in London, England.
She works in the fields of sound art, videoart, sound/light installation, intervention performance in public space. Her works have been presented at the MehrLicht Music Festival in Berlin, Germany; SWR Experimental Studio „Matrix15“ in Freiburg, Germany; Beethovenfest Bonn, Germany; ZKM „next_Generation“ Festival in Karlsruhe, Germany; Performance at Opening Ceremony of Konrad Zuse Museum in Hoyerswerda, Germany etc. Her composition "Salzwassser" was included in the 2019 album "Drop the beat" by the German electroacoustic association DEGEM and published in the same year.
Since 2018 Jiayi Wu started her first DJ gig in London by chance and has been active as a DJ in underground clubs in Berlin, Dresden, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Beijing ever since. In 2021 she founded her label "BAO" in Berlin.
